Columbia Property Trust announced it has signed yet another lease at 650 California Street in San Francisco, thus completing 200,000 square feet of leases in the past ten months.
The new tenant is financial technology company Affirm, which will occupy floors eight through twelve, totaling 86,225 square feet, with an eight-year lease term. The move from its current headquarters at 633 Folsom Street is expected to happen in August of this year.
“After more than three years of exponential growth, and counting, we are excited to be able to call 650 California home for many years to come. It is located in a safe and vibrant neighborhood, easily accessible to public transit and has great amenities for our team such as a gym, rooftop, and the best unobstructed views of San Francisco and the bay,” said Chris Tobin, SVP of People and Places at Affirm.
This new addition to the tenant roster brings the 478,392-square-foot office building to 89 percent occupancy. Columbia is riding the momentum, as this lease comes on the heels of a 12-year, 60,576-square-foot deal with WeWork, which signed on six weeks ago to occupy floors four through seven.
Columbia bought the iconic mid-century building in late 2014 and transformed it into a fully-modernized and amenity-filled Financial District office asset. The Class A, 33-story tower is LEED Gold certified and offers subterranean parking, a new café and tenant lounge, luxury on-site concierge services available exclusively to tenants, as well as state-of-the-art fitness and conference centers. Specialty transportation services include on-site valet parking, secure bike parking, and electric vehicle and Scoot-E-Bike® charging stations.
