Reno, Nev.-based private equity investment management company Dermody Properties recently delivered Phase I of The Logistics Campus in Glenview, Ill. The group also signed a new tenant for Building Three.

Located at 2501 Sanders Road, the facility will serve as the new headquarters for HuFriedyGroup, a leading company in dental instrument manufacturing, infection prevention, and instrument-reprocessing workflows.

“We’re very pleased HuFriedyGroup has chosen The Logistics Campus as its corporate headquarters,” said Elizabeth Kauchak, chief operating officer at Dermody. “It was looking for a great facility in an ideal, infill location. Here, they will retain their current workforce while improving business operations with room to grow and expand based on the company’s strategic vision. We believe The Logistics Campus will provide them with the state-of-the-art facility they were searching for, and we look forward to welcoming them on campus.”

The location offers tenants access to a vast labor market of nearly 775,000 potential employees living within a 10-mile radius. The campus can also accommodate a variety of modern industrial uses, including advanced manufacturing, packaging, and food and pharmaceutical operations.

A good candidate for businesses looking to expand their local footprint or relocate to the Midwest, The Logistics Campus is designed to meet LEED Silver certification standards and totals more than 3.2 million square feet of Glenview, Ill., industrial space across 10 buildings.

The recently completed phase one delivered buildings One through Five, which total 1.3 million square feet. Buildings feature LED lighting; 32’ to 40’ clear height; 7” concrete floors; interior-facing trailer parking; and flexibility for a variety of build-to-suit opportunities.

Meanwhile, sustainability features include electric vehicle charging stations and solar-ready structural engineering to support the additional roof load weight of solar panels. Notably, sustainability was also part of the environmentally conscious redevelopment construction process, which recycled 11,000 tons of materials for reuse on site; incorporated existing ponds; saved hundreds of trees via transplantation; and maintained 50 years of mature plant life and ground cover on the periphery of the campus to preserve the existing landscape.

Phase two will add buildings Six through 10, the last of which has already been leased, according to information currently listed on the property website.

“The Logistics Campus is located within one of the best-performing submarkets in Chicago in terms of vacancy rate and leasing activity,” said Neal Driscoll, Midwest region partner at Dermody. “The North Suburban O’Hare industrial market spans from I-90 in the south to Lake Cook Road in the north, running along I-294. This is one of the tightest submarkets in Chicago — driven by the continued growth of logistics and manufacturing business around O’Hare.”
