Hines, Cousins Sign New Lease at Atlanta’s Avalon

Hines and Cousins Properties announced a new tenant at the Atlanta office development that the companies are building together. Regus’ flexible office space concept, SPACES, has signed a 34,000-square-foot, 11-year lease at 8000 Avalon.

The office building is part of the highly successful Village of Avalon, an 86-acre mixed-use master development that is taking shape north of Atlanta. Excellently located in the thriving GA 400 corridor and designed by HOK Architects, the nine-story trophy Class A office building is under construction on a 4-acre site. Upon completion, in the second quarter of this year, the 224,000-square-foot structure is slated to be the tallest building in the Greater Atlanta office submarket of Alpharetta, Ga.

With the addition of SPACES, 8000 Avalon is now at 40% occupancy. “Cousins and Hines are thrilled to have Spaces as a new customer at 8000 Avalon,” said Larry Gellerstedt, president and chief executive officer of Cousins. “Spaces adds a unique element to 8000 Avalon and the entire mixed-use district by offering meeting rooms and coworking spaces to the next generation of business owners and entrepreneurs. We look forward to having Spaces open for business this fall.”

The development duo landed Microsoft Corp. as the anchor tenant last year in June. The software giant leased 43,000 square feet at what is currently the only office building in Avalon.

Office amenities include conference rooms, high-speed internet access and a wide range of leasing opportunities. Area amenities include over 455,000 square feet of upscale retail shops and restaurants, a 325-key full-service hotel, 276 luxury rental apartments, and much more.
