Athleisure apparel retailer Lululemon recently announced the opening of its newly expanded flagship store between Barnard Street and Whitaker Street in Savannah, Ga.

Located at 113 W. Broughton St., the space includes more than 5,500 square feet of downtown Savannah retail space and marks a significant expansion from the 2,600 square feet that the retailer occupied at 309 W. Broughton St.

Lululemon’s new digs was previously two stores — a MAC Cosmetics store and the Frankie & June Surf Shop. The new opening adds a leading athleisure, footwear and accessories brand to the growing retail scene in Savannah. Globally, the retailer operates more than 720 stores with more than 38,000 team members. It also recently earned recognition from Forbes as Retailer of the Year.

The retail property where Lululemon leased its newest store space is owned by equity real estate investment company Acadia Realty Trust. Judge Realty, headquartered in Savannah, was a representative in the leasing negotiations.

“We’re deeply honored to help Lululemon find a larger retail space on Broughton Street to meet the growing needs of their customers throughout the greater Savannah area,” said Judge Realty Founder and CEO, Lori Judge. “Lululemon is an iconic brand, and this beautiful retail store will serve as a popular destination for local residents, as well as visitors.”

Originally built around 1860, the property now incorporates more than 16,000 square feet of retail space across two stories in one of the most affluent retail corridors in the region. Proposed tenant buildout for the retailer included a unified storefront encompassing both 113 and 115 W. Broughton St., as well as an interior remodel, including new mechanical, electrical and plumbing.

According to Acadia property details, Lululemon shares the street with Kendra Scott jewelry; Bluemercury cosmetics; Urban Outfitters; Ben & Jerry’s; a Maple Street Biscuit Company café; natural beauty brand L’Occitane; and Vineyard Vines clothing.
