Advanced manufacturing represents nearly 27% of the Greenville region's Gross Regional Product, more than double the national average GRP of 13%. Greenville's advanced manufacturing operations are particularly clustered in four areas: chemicals and plastics, machinery and metals, wood and paper products, and marine-related manufacturing. There are more than 6,000 manufacturing jobs in the Greenville region. In addition, Greenville is eastern North Carolina's hub for medical, commercial, and education, with more than 2,000 people working in pharmaceutical manufacturing. Within a five-county region, more than a dozen companies employ 10,000 people in pharmaceutical manufacturing. The area's economic development has focused on growth in the manufacturing sector in recent years. The push has resulted in Thermo Fisher Scientific expanding its Greenville site by investing $500 million and adding 500 new jobs. World Cat, the world's largest maker of power catamarans also announced they are expanding their Greenville footprint with an $8.8 million investment hiring on 60 full-time area employees.The space includes 6 dock heigh loading doors and an open interior with column spaced at 30'x25'. The current ceiling clear is 24'-2" below structure at the peak and 19'-8" below structural roof support at the sidewall. The space also includes office spaces. 1104 Clark Street is a part of Greenville's Intersect East project. The Intersect East is an innovative blend of renovated and new buildings for office use, light manufacturing, and R&D. The project is a public-private partnership with East Carolina University, and current tenant line-up includes East Carolina University, Hyster-Yale, and Appogee Electronics.
