Carlsbad, CA Office Market Overview
Located 35 miles south of downtown Los Angeles — and part of the San Diego-Carlsbad metropolitan statistical area — Carlsbad is among the top 20 most prosperous communities in the U.S. In fact, the city has been dubbed “Titanium Valley” due to the presence of golf manufacturing companies such as Callaway Golf, Cobra Golf, Titleist and Odyssey Golf.
Demand for office space in Carlsbad is also fueled by companies such as ViaSat, Toyota, Nortek Security Control and Arkeia Software. Currently, there are 100 projects — totaling roughly 8 million square feet of office space — under construction in the city. In 2019, the 83,000-square-foot Element building was the largest office sale in Carlsbad, closing at $23.1 million.
Carlsbad is also one of the nation’s most important startup and innovation hubs and, according to Google, has one of the most active online business communities in California. The local economy here focuses on information technology, clean technology, robotics, video game development, medical devices, wireless technology and tourism.
